# How to enable Data Studio Booster and configure data refreshes
## Learn when to enable Data Studio Booster and how to schedule data refreshes for faster report loading with your existing Dataslayer connectors.
Data Studio Booster works with the connectors, data sources, and reports you already use. You do not need to reconnect your data sources or modify your reports.
### When should I enable Booster?
Enable Booster when you want faster report loading and scheduled data refreshes meet your reporting needs. It can be particularly useful for reports with large volumes of data or reports you consult repeatedly throughout the day.
If you need real-time access to changes in your original data sources, keep Booster disabled. Your Dataslayer connectors will continue to provide their usual real-time functionality.
**Booster settings apply to your entire company.** Before enabling it, consider the data freshness requirements of everyone using your company’s Dataslayer connectors for Data Studio.
### What changes about data freshness?
With Booster enabled, your query data is stored on Dataslayer’s servers and refreshed according to your configured schedule. Your reports display the **most recent successfully completed refresh**.
Changes made in the original data source after that refresh will appear once the next scheduled refresh completes successfully. Opening or refreshing a report does not request new data from the original source for queries already stored.
The first time a new query runs, Booster may need to retrieve and store its data. Subsequent loads can then use the stored information to load faster.
### How do I enable Data Studio Booster?
1. Sign in to the Dataslayer app and open the [Data Studio Boosters page](https://app.dataslayer.ai/datastudio/boosters).
2. Turn on **Enable Data Studio Boosters**.
3. Configure your refresh timezone and times as explained below.
4. Review the **Inactivity expiration** setting.
5. Read the [Data Studio Booster Terms of Use](https://www.dataslayer.ai/data-studio-booster-terms) and select the checkbox to accept them.
6. Click **Save changes**.
Your existing connectors and reports will use Booster without requiring you to reconnect your data sources or rebuild anything.
### How do I configure data refreshes?
On the **Data Studio Boosters** page:
1. Under **Refresh timezone**, search for and select the city or timezone you want to use.
2. Under **Refresh times**, select or enter the times of day when your data should refresh. Enter times in **24-hour format**, for example, **08:30**.
3. Check the timezone displayed in the settings to confirm how your selected times will be interpreted.
4. Review the **Daily refresh limit** shown for your account.
5. Click **Save changes**.
Choose times that fit your team’s reporting needs and allow for the refresh to complete before you need to review the latest data.
For example, if your team reviews performance each morning, schedule a refresh before that review. The report will show the updated data once the refresh completes successfully.
### What is inactivity expiration?
**Inactivity expiration** determines how many days stored data can remain without being accessed before it expires.
Review the selected period in the Booster settings and choose from the available options to suit your needs. Click **Save changes** if you make any changes.
### What if my report does not show the latest changes?
First, check your configured refresh times and timezone. If the source data changed after the last successful refresh, those changes will not appear until the next scheduled refresh completes successfully.
Refreshing the report itself will continue to retrieve the stored data for queries already available on Dataslayer’s servers.
