# How is billing handled for Dataslayer MCP usage?
## Dataslayer MCP can be used in two ways: as a standalone destination with unlimited messages, or as an included feature with another destination from the Advanced plan upwards.
Dataslayer MCP is billed through your Dataslayer plan and destination selection. There are no separate setup fees or per-message charges.
### **Option 1: Buy MCP as a standalone destination**
Select MCP as your destination when choosing your Dataslayer plan. This option is designed for teams that want to use Dataslayer exclusively to connect their AI tools to marketing data.
Standalone MCP includes unlimited messages on the following plans:
- **Starter:** €29/month, billed annually
- **Advanced:** €99/month, billed annually
- **Pro:** €299/month, billed annually
- **Business:** Custom pricing
Your plan determines the number of connectors, users, accounts per connector, and other included capabilities.
### **Option 2: Use MCP included with another destination**
From the Advanced plan upwards, Dataslayer MCP is included at no additional cost when you subscribe to another Dataslayer destination.
This option includes:
- 100 MCP messages per month
- Access to the connectors covered by the destination you selected
- No separate MCP charge on your Dataslayer invoice
Existing customers who already use MCP through another destination can continue using their current setup under the applicable plan conditions.
### **Free trial period**
Dataslayer offers a 15-day free trial:
- No credit card required
- Test Dataslayer MCP with your marketing data
- Explore the available connection and querying features
### **After the trial**
#### If you use MCP as a standalone destination
Keep an active Dataslayer subscription with MCP selected as your destination.
#### If you use MCP included with another destination
Keep an active Advanced, Pro, or Business subscription with another Dataslayer destination selected.
If your Dataslayer subscription becomes inactive, MCP access pauses until you reactivate an eligible plan.
### **What's included**
Depending on how you use MCP, your plan includes:
- Unlimited messages when MCP is selected as a standalone destination
- 100 messages per month when MCP is included with another destination from Advanced upwards
- Access to the connectors and accounts included in your Dataslayer plan
- OAuth authentication and secure MCP connectivity
- No setup or connection fees
### **AI provider costs are separate**
While Dataslayer MCP access is managed through your Dataslayer subscription, the AI provider you connect may have its own pricing or licensing requirements:

- **Gemini:** Gemini access and any associated costs depend on the Gemini product and plan you use, such as Gemini Enterprise or Gemini CLI.
- **Mistral AI Free:** $0/month (only provider with free MCP support) - [See Mistral AI pricing](https://mistral.ai/pricing)
- **Custom (any MCP-compatible LLM):** Cost depends on the client/model you choose - can be $0 with a local / self-hosted model
**These costs are paid directly to the AI providers**, not to Dataslayer.
### **Maintaining Access**
- **During trial:** Use freely for 15 days
- **After trial:**
- Choose MCP as a standalone destination if you want unlimited MCP messages.
- Choose another destination on an Advanced, Pro, or Business plan if you want MCP included with 100 messages per month.
- **Ongoing:**
- Keep your Dataslayer subscription active to maintain access.
- Keep any required AI provider subscriptions or licenses active.
- **If subscription lapses:** MCP access pauses immediately
