Dataslayer New Pricing Structure: Transitioning to User and Connector-Based Plans in February 2026
Dataslayer is launching a new pricing model in February 2026 with user and connector-based billing. All existing customers keep their current pricing. Learn about the new plans and what this means for you.
Important Changes to Dataslayer Pricing: What You Need to Know
Starting February 2026, Dataslayer is introducing a completely new pricing structure that fundamentally changes how we charge for our marketing data integration platform. This transition represents a significant shift in our business model, moving away from API call-based billing to a more transparent and predictable pricing system based on users, connectors, and accounts.
Before we dive into the details, here's the most important thing you need to know: If you're already a Dataslayer customer, your current plan and pricing will remain unchanged. You will not be forced to pay more, and your existing plan will continue to work exactly as it does today unless you choose to make a change.
Why We're Changing Our Pricing Model
For years, Dataslayer has charged customers based on API call/rows consumption. While this seemed logical from a technical perspective—after all, API calls and rows represent actual resource usage—we've learned that this model creates significant challenges for our customers.
The feedback from our user base has been consistent: API call-based pricing is confusing and unpredictable. Marketing teams and agencies struggle to estimate their monthly costs because API consumption varies based on factors like report complexity, refresh frequency, and the number of data sources being queried. This makes budgeting difficult and creates anxiety around usage.
After extensive market research and analysis of competitor offerings, we've concluded that the industry is on a different standard, and so must we. Modern data integration platforms charge based on users, connectors, and accounts—metrics that are far more intuitive and aligned with how teams actually think about their tools. You know exactly how many team members need access, which platforms you're connecting, and how many client accounts you manage. These are concrete numbers you can plan around.
This change isn't just about following market trends. It's about creating a better customer experience. With connector-based pricing, you can predict your costs with certainty, scale your usage confidently, and budget effectively for the year ahead. There are no surprise overages, no need to monitor API consumption dashboards, and no complex calculations to estimate your monthly bill.
Moreover, this new model allows us to invest more heavily in the features that matter most to our customers (advanced AI capabilities, data blending, enhanced automation, and expanded connector support) rather than optimizing every feature for API call efficiency.
Understanding the New Pricing Structure
The new pricing model is built around three primary dimensions: connectors, users, and accounts. Each plan tier provides specific limits across these dimensions, along with access to core features and destinations.
- Connectors represent integrations with marketing and analytics platforms. Each platform you connect (whether it's Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Google Analytics 4, LinkedIn Ads, or any of our 50+ supported platforms) counts as one connector. If you're using three different platforms to gather your marketing data, you're using three connectors.
- Users refer to the number of team members who can access your Dataslayer Company. Each person with login credentials counts as one user. This determines how many people can create reports, manage connections, and access your data. Plans range from single-user access to unlimited users for larger teams and agencies.
- Accounts represent the specific advertising or analytics accounts you connect within each platform. This is particularly important for agencies managing multiple clients. For example, if you connect Google Ads as a platform (one connector) but manage ten different client Google Ads accounts, that counts as ten accounts. The account limit is per connector and determines how many client accounts you can manage through Dataslayer on each.
All new plans allow you to select destinations for your marketing data. You can choose from core destinations (Looker Studio, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI) which include unlimited rows across all plan tiers, or enterprise destinations (BigQuery, API Query Manager, Snowflake, Database, Amazon S3 and Redshift, Google Cloud Storage, etc.) which have specific monthly row limits that scale with your plan tier. You can purchase multiple destinations simultaneously—for example, both Google Sheets and BigQuery—with each destination operating under its respective row limit.

The New Plan Structure
Free Plan provides basic access for individual users exploring Dataslayer or managing simple personal projects. It includes one connector, one user, one account, and one manual refresh per day per user. You can choose any of the four core destinations (Looker Studio, Google Sheets, Excel, or Power BI). This tier is perfect for testing Dataslayer's capabilities or managing a single, simple data source.
Starter Plan is designed for freelancers, small businesses, or individual marketers managing a few platforms. It provides three connectors, one user, and up to three accounts. You can select any destination or combination of destinations from our catalog, and can set up automated daily refreshes to keep your data current without manual intervention. Core destinations (Looker Studio, Google Sheets, Excel, Power BI) include unlimited rows, while enterprise destinations (BigQuery, Snowflake, Database, API Query Manager, etc.) have a 5,000 monthly row limit. If you need multiple destinations, you can add them to your plan, with each operating under these limits.
This plan offers excellent value for solo practitioners who need to consolidate data from a handful of marketing platforms.
Advanced Plan targets growing teams and small agencies. You get seven connectors, ten users, and up to 50 accounts. This tier introduces automated hourly refreshes, ensuring your data is always up-to-date throughout the day. You can select any of our available destinations. Core destinations (Looker Studio, Google Sheets, Excel, Power BI) include unlimited rows, while enterprise destinations (BigQuery, Snowflake, Database, API Query Manager) provide 100,000 monthly rows.
It also includes two powerful features: Data Blending and AI Insights. Data Blending allows you to combine data from multiple sources into unified reports, while AI Insights provides access to our complete suite of AI-powered tools including the Chrome Extension Looker Studio AI Analyzer, Dataslayer MCP, Dataslayer GPT, and Dataslayer AI Chat—an intelligent assistant that can access your account data, create visual dashboards, and provide insights in seconds.
This plan is ideal for teams that need collaboration capabilities and sophisticated AI-driven analytics.
Pro Plan serves larger agencies and marketing teams with substantial client portfolios. It provides ten connectors, unlimited users, and up to 100 accounts. Like the Advanced plan, it includes hourly automated refreshes, Data Blending, and the full AI Insights suite (Chrome Extension, MCP, GPT, and AI Chat).
You have access to any of our available destinations. Core destinations (Looker Studio, Google Sheets, Excel, Power BI) include unlimited rows, while enterprise destinations (BigQuery, Snowflake, Database, API Query Manager) provide 2 million monthly rows.
The unlimited user access makes this perfect for agencies where multiple team members need to access and manage client data without worrying about per-seat fees.
Business Plan offers fully customized solutions for large organizations with complex requirements. This tier provides access to all available connectors, a custom number of users, and custom account limits. It includes custom row limits for enterprise destinations, unlimited rows for all core destinations, and fully flexible multi-destination configurations. You can combine as many destinations as needed—core and enterprise—with row limits tailored specifically to your data volume requirements. It also includes hourly refreshes, Data Blending, and the complete AI Insights suite.
Pricing is customized based on your specific needs, volume, and desired features. You'll work directly with our sales team to design a solution that fits your organization.

Refresh Frequency Improvements
One significant enhancement in the new plan structure is the improvement to data refresh capabilities. The Free Plan maintains one manual refresh per day, which is suitable for users with minimal data freshness requirements.
Starting with the Starter Plan, all paid tiers now include automated daily refreshes. This means your reports and dashboards are automatically updated once per day without any manual intervention required. For most small businesses and freelancers, daily refreshes provide sufficient data freshness to monitor campaigns and make informed decisions.
From the Advanced Plan upward (Advanced, Pro, and Business), we're introducing hourly automated refreshes. This represents a major upgrade in data freshness, allowing your reports to update every hour throughout the day. For agencies managing active campaigns, running time-sensitive promotions, or requiring near-real-time performance monitoring, hourly refreshes ensure you're always working with current data. You can spot issues quickly, respond to performance changes immediately, and make data-driven decisions with confidence that your information is current within the hour.
What Happens to Existing Customers
This is the most critical section for current Dataslayer customers. When the new pricing launches in February 2026, every existing subscription automatically becomes what we call a "Legacy Plan". Your Legacy Plan means:
- Your current price stays exactly the same. Whatever you're paying today continues in time. There are no automatic price increases, no forced migrations, and no changes to your billing.
- Your current limits remain unchanged. Whatever limits you have today, they stay in place. You don't lose access to anything you currently have.
- Your current features continue to work. Every feature included in your plan today will continue to function exactly as it does now. You're not losing capabilities or access to platforms.
- Your Legacy Plan continues to renew. As long as you keep your subscription active and don't cancel, your Legacy Plan and its pricing are yours. There's no forced migration timeline, and no pressure to change. You can maintain your Legacy Plan for years if it continues to meet your needs.
However, there are important limitations to understand. Legacy Plans are being grandfathered in, but they're also being frozen. The old pricing structure is being retired, which means:
- Legacy Plans are not available to new customers. Starting February 2026, anyone signing up for Dataslayer must choose from the new plan structure. The option to purchase a plan with the old pricing model will no longer exist.
- Legacy Plans cannot be modified. You cannot add accounts, increase limits, or adjust any parameters of your Legacy Plan. The plan is fixed at its current configuration. If your needs grow beyond your current limits, you'll need to switch to a new plan.
- New features may not be available on Legacy Plans. This is particularly important for AI-powered capabilities. Features like AI Insights (including the Chrome Extension Looker Studio AI Analyzer, Dataslayer MCP, Dataslayer GPT, and Dataslayer AI Chat), hourly refresh capabilities, and other innovations we develop after February 2026 will be exclusive to the new plan structure. Your Legacy Plan will continue to receive standard updates, connector maintenance, and security patches, but cutting-edge new features will be reserved for current plan tiers.
- If you make any changes to your subscription after February 2026, you must switch to the new pricing structure. This includes upgrading to a higher tier, adding more accounts, or any other modification. Once you switch from a Legacy Plan to a new plan, you cannot go back. Your Legacy Plan pricing is permanently lost.
- If you cancel your subscription, your Legacy Plan is permanently lost. Should you decide to resubscribe later, you'll need to choose from the new plans at current pricing. There are no exceptions to this policy. If you're considering a temporary pause in service, we strongly recommend contacting our support team first to discuss potential alternatives.
You can subscribe to a new tier in a different destination while keeping your Legacy Plan in a destination you have previously bought. I.e. you can keep your Google Sheets Legacy plan while purchasing a new license of Looker Studio, with the new tier plans.
Making the Decision: Stay or Switch?
For existing customers, the key question is whether to maintain your Legacy Plan or voluntarily switch to the new pricing structure. This decision depends entirely on your individual circumstances.
You should strongly consider staying on your Legacy Plan if:
- Your current pricing is lower than the equivalent new plan for your usage level. Run the numbers carefully. Check our pricing page and compare what you're paying now versus what you would pay under the new structure.
- Your current limits comfortably accommodate your needs. If you're not bumping up against API call limits or account restrictions, and you don't anticipate significant growth, staying put makes financial sense.
- You don't require the newest AI features or hourly refreshes in lower tiers. If your current reporting and analytics capabilities meet your needs, and weekly or manual refreshes are sufficient for your workflows, paying more for features you won't use doesn't make sense.
- You value pricing stability and predictability. Legacy Plans lock in your current rate indefinitely, providing complete certainty about your costs for years to come.
You might consider switching to a new plan if:
- You need access to our AI Insights suite. This includes the Chrome Extension Looker Studio AI Analyzer for instant insights within your Looker Studio reports, Dataslayer MCP for advanced integrations, Dataslayer GPT for natural language queries, and Dataslayer AI Chat. These features can provide significant value for agencies and teams that need sophisticated, AI-driven analytics.
- You require hourly automated refreshes in lower tiers. If near-real-time data is critical for your operations, the hourly refresh capability available from the Advanced Plan upward represents a substantial operational improvement.
- The new plan limits better align with your actual usage patterns. For example, if you're currently constrained by API call limits but don't need many accounts, a connector-based plan might actually provide better value and fewer restrictions.
- You're planning significant growth. If you know you'll need to expand your usage substantially, switching now might be more cost-effective than trying to stretch your Legacy Plan to its limits.
- You want to simplify your billing and eliminate API call monitoring. Some customers simply prefer the predictability of connector-based pricing, even if it costs slightly more.
Unified Pricing Across Destinations
Another significant change in the new model is that pricing is now unified across all destinations. Previously, Dataslayer had different pricing tiers depending on whether you were sending data to Google Sheets, Looker Studio, Excel, or Power BI. This created complexity and confusion, especially for customers who wanted to switch destinations or use multiple destinations.
Under the new structure, all destinations are priced identically at each plan level. This simplification makes it easier to understand pricing, compare plans, and make decisions about which destination best fits your workflow without worrying about cost implications.
Enterprise destinations are now available across all plan tiers with monthly row limits that scale with each plan due to the additional infrastructure, support, and technical requirements they entail. For organizations requiring higher volumes or multiple destinations simultaneously, the Business plan offers custom configurations.
Timeline and Transition Process
The new pricing structure launches in February 2026. Here's what that means in practical terms:
- For existing customers: Your billing cycles continue unchanged. You don't need to take any action. Your next invoice will reflect the same amount you're currently paying. Behind the scenes, your account is automatically flagged as a Legacy Plan, which preserves your current pricing and limits. You'll see an indicator in your Dataslayer dashboard showing that you're on a Legacy Plan.
- For new customers: Anyone signing up for Dataslayer starting in February 2026 will see the new pricing structure on our website and must choose from the available plans: Starter, Advanced, Pro, or Business. The old pricing model will no longer be advertised or available for purchase.
Final Thoughts
This transition represents the most significant change to Dataslayer's business model since our founding. We believe the new pricing structure is more transparent, more predictable, and better aligned with how our customers actually use our platform. By charging based on users, connectors, and accounts rather than API calls, we're making it easier for teams to budget confidently and scale without anxiety.
For existing customers, we want to emphasize again: you are fully protected. Your current pricing is safe, your current plan continues indefinitely, and you have complete control over whether and when to make any changes. We value the trust you've placed in Dataslayer, and grandfathering existing plans is our way of honoring that relationship.
If you have questions about how these changes affect your specific situation, our support team is ready to help. We can provide personalized analysis of your current usage, projections of how different plans would accommodate your needs, and guidance on whether switching makes sense for your organization.
The marketing data integration landscape is evolving rapidly, and Dataslayer is committed to evolving with it. This pricing change positions us to invest more heavily in the AI-powered features, enhanced automation, and advanced capabilities that will define the next generation of marketing analytics. We're excited about what's ahead, and we're grateful to have you as part of our journey.
