How to create new Criteo credentials

This post is to introduce you on how to authenticate or reauthenticate Criteo with Google Sheets, Looker Studio, and our website destinations.

To generate queries from the Criteo platform, it is essential to first establish a connection with Dataslayer. This requires creating new Criteo credentials by following the steps outlined below:

1. Go to developers.criteo.com and log into your account.

2. Once on the partners.criteo.com site, in the App section, click on the “Create a new app” button on the top right or the "+" option available.

2. At the Activate your App window, three sections will be displayed:

  • Create APP

    - App Details: Write down a Name and Description for your app and click on "next". 
    Here you can enter a name such as "External App", "Dataslayer APP" or anything that can help you identify that the App is being created to establish the connection with Dataslayer.

    - Authentication method: Proceed by selecting Client Credentials and then click on "Create".

  • App Activation

    For Service, select the option C-Growth and Marketing Solutions and click on "Next".

  • Authorizations

    Make sure that all authorizations are selected under the "Read" option.

    A pop-up window will appear to ask if you'd like to Activate your app, click on "Activate"

3. You'll be redirected to the screen shown below, and you should click on the "Create new key" button which will download a .txt document.

4. Open the document downloaded and search for the Client_id and the Client_secret.

Now you have the information needed to make the connection between Criteo and Dataslayer!

5. Login into Dataslayer.ai and look for the Hub Account section.

6. Once in there, look for the Criteo connector.

7. Click on "+ Add new account".

8 . A new window will be opened to start the login access into the Criteo platform.
Click on "Start" and this will redirect you to this access request:

9. Copy and paste both Client ID and Client Secret accordingly, and then, click on "Connect".

Done! The connection has been established and the account can be selected in the Hub Accounts section when building a report.
