With Dataslayer, you can easily automate the refresh of your reports, ensuring your data stays up to date without manual intervention.
Once you've created a query, you can schedule a data refresh to occur automatically at your preferred time.
Follow these steps to schedule report refreshes for both Google Sheets and Excel:
Step 1: Open the Scheduling Interface
- In Google Sheets and Excel, click the Schedule button at the top of the extension.
- In Excel, after clicking the Schedule button, select Register your Schedules.
Step 2: Configure Your Schedule Refresh
A pop-up window will appear with the following options:
- Action: Choose how often you want the refresh to occur. Options include hourly, daily, weekly, etc. (availability depends on your plan).
- Day and Time: If applicable, specify the day and time you want the refresh to happen.
- Select Sheets: Choose which specific sheets you want to refresh.
Notifications: You can also select if you want to receive an email once the refresh has been done successfully or only if any of your refreshes have failed and the reason why.
PDF Export: If you want a PDF copy of the updated sheets select the last option, but note that due to Spreadsheet limitations, it is not possible to export very large data sheets.
Important: If you select All sheets, Dataslayer will refresh ALL queries in the same spreadsheet, regardless of the number of sheets included.
Step 3: Save Your Schedule
Once everything is configured:
- Click the Save trigger button to confirm your schedule.
- Wait a few seconds, and a confirmation message will appear: "Scheduled update has been successfully saved."
