Instagram Insights - How to solve the error “(#10) Application does not have permission for this action”

Have you ever experienced this error when trying to add more accounts to Instagram Insights in Dataslayer?

Don't worry, follow these steps to fix it:


1. Log out of the Hub Account at the Instagram Insights connector.

2. Add a new account and generate the accordingly connection with Instagram's account.

3. After being redirected to Facebook's login page, make sure to click on the option that says "Edit previous settings":

4. Our recommendation is to select the first option, This ensures that every time a business account is added, it will automatically be granted permission in Dataslayer and will appear in Dataslayer's queries configuration. Next, proceed by clicking on the "Continue" button.".

5. In this step, we also suggest choosing the first option once more and simply clicking on "Continue" to proceed.

6. This final list will display all the permissions that have been granted. To proceed, please click on the "Save" button.

7. Click on "Got it" and now your accounts are connected with all the requested permissions.

Once you have completed these steps, be sure to refresh your Google Sheets or Looker Studio site. Next, choose the account that has been added and start using it for your reports and queries.



If the mentioned steps don't solve the issue, please bear in mind this additional option:

  • You may need to reset your business integration.

    1. To do this, log in to Facebook with the account that you use to connect Instagram to Dataslayer.

    2. Once you are logged in, open your business integration settings and go to the "Active" tab.

    3. Look for the Dataslayer connector, check the box on the right side of the row, and click "Remove".
