Workspaces in Morpheus MMM: The Smart Way to Manage Your Clients

Discover how to use Workspaces in Morpheus by Dataslayer to structure your clients, manage access with user roles, and collaborate efficiently as a marketing agency. Learn best practices for permissions and team organization.

What are Workspaces in Morpheus?

Workspaces in Morpheus allow you to organize your data models and client setups separately. Each Workspace is an isolated environment where you can manage campaigns, data sources, and users independently.

Recommended for agencies:
Create one Workspace per client. This keeps access control clean, avoids data mixing, and makes permissions easier to manage.

💡 Note: Every Workspace includes a default Demo Model as an example. It’s a fully functional setup you can explore to understand how Morpheus works before building your own model.

How do I create a Workspace?

  1. Go to the "Workspaces" tab in the top menu.

  2. Click "New Workspace".

  3. Name the Workspace (e.g. your client’s name).

  4. Once created, you can configure it and invite users.

What roles and permissions are available?

When you invite someone to a Workspace, you assign them a role within that Workspace, regardless of their global role in Dataslayer.

  • Viewer 🔒 Can view content only. No editing or sharing allowed.

  • Editor ✏️ Can view and edit content, but cannot share or manage members.

  • Admin 🛠️ Can view and manage users in the Workspace, but cannot remove them.

  • Owner 👑 Full access: can view, edit, share, delete, and manage members.

⚠️ Important:
Workspace roles override company-level roles.
Even if a user is the Owner of the Dataslayer company, if they are added to a Workspace as a Viewer, they will only have Viewer access in that Workspace.

What happens if a user leaves the company?

If a user is removed from the company:

  • All Workspaces created under the company context (after the user joined the company) will automatically be transferred to the Company Owner.

  • The removed user will lose access to all Workspaces tied to the company.

  • Any private or user-created Workspaces that are not shared with others will stay under the user account.

This ensures full control stays within your organization and nothing is lost when someone leaves.

Can I invite clients to their own Workspace?

Yes! You can invite external users (e.g., your client) with the Viewer role if you want them to see results but not modify anything. Or, give them Editor access if they need to update configurations (only recommended for clients with technical expertise).

Where do I manage users?

  1. Inside a Workspace, click the share icon in the top-right corner.

  2. You’ll see a panel with current members.

  3. From there, you can invite users by email, assign roles, and manage access.

By structuring your client accounts through Workspaces, you ensure cleaner organization, better permission control, and a more professional collaboration environment. Whether you're managing one client or fifty, Workspaces help you scale efficiently while keeping data access secure and clear.
