Best practices to use Dataslayer with Mailchimp

Are you using our Mailchimp connector, but you don't really know how it works? Don't worry, we are going to explain to you how this integration works and its basics to get the most out of it.

mailchimp

With the connector of Mailchimp, you can pull all data related to your email campaign, such as email campaign details, industry, and date. You will be able to store all your data in a report and see which campaign has worked best.

1. Query types available for Mailchimp data source.

You have three types of queries available when using the Mailchimp connector. You must select an "Account" inside of Dataslayer Sidebard to use:

  • Automation
  • Lists
  • Campaigns

2. You can select all "Accounts" in one click.

If you have many campaigns in Mailchimp you can select all at once instead of going one by one. To do this, in the "Accounts" field you must click on the type of automation you want in your query and all of them will be added.

3. Schedule your reports to update automatically.

Following the steps in these FAQs you will learn how to schedule an automatic update of your query in Google Sheets or report in Looker Studio.

4. By choosing the date range ("date") using this connector, we select the creation date of the campaign, list, or automation.

We would obtain the data of the emails that have some change in their metrics in that date range.
